When can a YouTube end screen start?

YouTube says an end screen can be added to the last 5 to 20 seconds of a video, and the video has to be at least 25 seconds long. On a 1 minute video, the start window is 0:40 to 0:55. This page finds that window. It does not add an end screen, and the window does not predict clicks.

These rules are from YouTube Help, Add end screens to videos, as read on 2 November 2026. End screens can be added to the last 5 to 20 seconds. The video has to be at least 25 seconds long. A standard 16:9 video can have up to four elements. Other aspect ratios may have a lower limit, and YouTube does not print that lower number. YouTube also says an end screen may not always show, or may show differently than designed. Viewers can hide it. It is not available on videos set as made for kids, and viewers cannot see it on mobile web, except iPad mobile web, or in the YouTube Music and YouTube Kids apps, Flash videos, or 360 videos. If you use a custom image, YouTube recommends at least 300 by 300 pixels. A 16:9 frame is a separate check in the aspect ratio calculator.
